A haunting rythmic sound floats through the air, drawing your soul
closer to nature...
The didgeridoo (dijeridu, or any other spelling as well) is an Australian wind instrument,
formed simply by a hollowed out log. Termites hollow out the main part of it, and the rest is
dislodged with a stick, then cleaned. The log is sanded on the outside, and often painted. It
is an Aboriginal instrument, one of the most primitive yet most inviting instruments in the world.
A didgeridoo can also be a simple piece of PVC pipe, preferably sanded smooth. I work in a
small hardware store, and have been known to pick up a pipe during slack time and start playing.
I've writing a few simple instructions for how it's done. So jump to my
instructions page to read my own directions, or go to the
DREAMTIME
server to learn more about these unique instruments.
