Things to Remember While Pranking
#1: Always plan for the worst - assume you WILL get caught. Have a cover story ready if
possible, otherwise be ready to get the hell out of Dodge in hurry. This is also the
reasoning behind #1 on the Guidelines page.
#2: Most, if not all, schools have a security system. Be familiar with the one at your
school. Ours, for example, has a number of motion detectors as well as wired doors. Know
what areas the detectors don't register, and check your doors beforehand. The better
security systems are wired directly to the police station. A girl once "broke into" our
school to get a textbook for a test. Inside of three minutes, the school was surrounded
by police officers. DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU.
#3: Check the weather forcast. Don't do a complicated, outdoor prank if a rainstorm is
predicted.
#4: Communication is key. Plan out exactly what you are going to do beforehand. This
lowers the chance that someone will screw up badly.
#5: Many schools have security guards or police men during the day, and patrols that
cruise past at night. Have one or more lookouts, depending on the possible directions
that problems could come from. Work out a signal for short range, use radios for longer
distance, if you have them. If the guard/officer has a set routine, FIGURE IT OUT. Clock
night patrols if possible.
#6: This one seems really obvious - use only people you trust. This means if they get caught,
they're not going to rat you out. Don't tell anyone outside your team about your plans
beforehand - that's how the chickens were trapped.
#7: If you are pulling a prank or setting up part of one during the day, walk around
like you own the place. Don't slink, and don't avoid people. Have your cover story
ready in case anyone asks. If you need a hall pass for whatever reason, they are
surprisingly easy to come by. At night, work away from roads and houses and wear dark
clothes. The fewer people that see you, the better.
#8: Decoys are wonderful things - just ask any duck hunter. Have someone ready with a
good story in case cops are called, especially at night. That way, they're not as likely
to be suspicious, and step up their patrols.
