Filled Rooms

Contributed by: Mad Vlad
Expense: Depends on fill material and size of room
Number of people: Can be as few as two, but the more the better.
Time: Depends on fill/room size
Materials: Something that can be used to fill a room. Tennis balls, balloons, crumpled newspaper, shredded newspaper, empty soda cans, anything.
Tools: Screwdriver, ladder, truck
Real easy in theory - find an opening into one of the rooms, and stuff it full of stuff. One possible way of getting in in removing a window catch plate - the handle looks like it's locked, but it' really open. Thus the screwdriver. Ladder can be used for upper floor windows. One possibility is to rent a self-storage unit (not terribly expensive) at the beginning of the year, and collect used tennis balls from country and racket clubs, then borrow/rent a van or truck and use laundry baskets. Open a window, and pour the suckers in. This does require some planning, however - be sure that the room is not wired with motion detectors or window alarms. Also remember that smaller rooms can be filled to a greater depth with the same amount of fill material. Aim for a private office or small classroom. The effect is much better that way.
